Board Games and Learning Standards

I am working on a personal project this summer to align my board games to educational standards. This interests me for two reasons. First, it forces me to think more deeply about the mechanics of the games. It also familiarizes me with educational standards outside what I teach, specifically math and early childhood education standards. I am using BoardGameGeek’s Geeklist feature because I think it is the best tool to publicly organize and display a large list of games.

This list of mine will never be complete. Every time I get a get a new game, I will think about how it aligns to learning standards and update the list. I am putting this list together mostly for myself, but I think it can be beneficial to anybody who wants to gameschool and needs standard alignment.

Here is the link to the list. If you have any games you would like me to examine or suggestions for games that align well to a standard, leave a comment here or on BGG.
